Calp City Council will settle all its debts with suppliers and increase the investments planned in this year's budget, after paying the 2019 bills with a cash balance of 6,275,103.13 euros. Yesterday, the plenary session of the Council, with the only votes for the government team (PP - Ciudadanos), finally approved the municipal budget planned for 2020, as well as the regulation of last year's budget.
Calp City Council has launched an awareness campaign in November to eliminate violence against women.
This campaign is coordinated by the Equality Department and CREAMA, together with the Asociación de Empresarios y Comerciantes (AEMCO) (Association of Entrepreneurs and Business Owners).
The aim of this campaign is to contribute to the awareness of society that we can all contribute to the eradication of this type of violence. It calls for the participation of local businesses in the awareness campaign.
Calp today held the meeting of the advisory board, which consists of former mayors of the municipality. The Advisory Board was established in 2009 as a supplementary advisory body to the Mayor. Luis Serna and Cesar Sanchez did not attend the meeting. This council, whose creation was approved in a plenary session in 2009, is composed of all those who held the office of mayor of the municipality. It is chaired by the mayor who holds the office at that time.
The painter Fernando Baquero (Aranjuez, 1930) is exhibiting again in the Casa de Cultura in Calp 20 years after his last exhibition in these premises. And he is doing so with a retrospective that opens its doors on March 4 under the name "Fernando Baquero, 90 years of art".
The Calp Town Council has sent the Generalitat Valenciana (Valencian regional government) a description of the damage caused by storm Gloria and an economic assessment of it, in order to ask the Generalitat for 100% aid.
The total cost of the damage is 2,782,720 euros, broken down as follows: 243,132 euros for demolition, 700,966 euros for the retaining walls, 12,770 euros for repairing the breakwater, 638,955 euros for paving and roadway, 376,548 euros for stairs and ramps, 162,525 euros for equipment and furniture and 647,820 euros for planting.

The City Councilor for Equality has launched a programme of workshops to promote equality and prevent gender-based violence, aimed at the students of the Ifac grammar school in the city.
The aim is to promote values and content related to the elimination of gender roles and stereotypes, violent behaviour, sexual harassment and gender-specific harassment, the prevention of sexual violence, micro-machism, new masculinity and femininity among adolescents and young people.
Calp is committed to greater accessibility and participation in order to become an age-friendly city
Improving accessibility and promoting civic participation are two of the main goals Calp has set itself to become an age-friendly city. This morning, Rebeca Merchán, Councillor for the Elderly, together with Crea 360, the company responsible for drawing up the plan, presented the local action plan for the "Calp, towns for the elderly" project, which includes measures to adapt the municipality to this group and thus improve its quality of life.
