?Calp detects its first case of COVID19. It concerns 17 people who spent their holidays in the city and are under curfew after a positive test. Both the Calp Town Council and the Denia Health Authority have kept this case under control at all times.

The Calp Philatelic and Numismatic Association is already working on its 25th EXFICALP, a philatelic and collectors' exhibition that has been held in December for years and this year is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the twinning between Calp and El Puerto de Santa María.
This week work will resume on the reconstruction of access to La Fossa beach and will be carried out by the Dirección General de la Costa y el Mar through its Coastal Service of the Province of Alicante. A total of 48 children from Calp took part in the first children's story competition organised by the municipal library with the Covid as the theme. This initiative was launched at the end of April by the City Council for Culture to promote the literary creativity of children in times of reduced mobility.
The sixteenth excavation campaign at the Pobla d'Ifac excavation site in Calp will end tomorrow after a month of August during which six university volunteers have worked intensively to support the tasks of the preventive consolidation programme in the area. This year's action focused on the documentation and consolidation of a series of tombs in the necropolis of Ifac, located next to the church of the medieval town. The technical team has discovered up to 11 new graves in the cemetery area, bringing the number of already documented burials to 67 out of the hundred or so graves found.
The Calp City Council, which met this morning, has agreed to ask the Generalitat Valenciana to convene the Penyal d'Ifac Board of Directors as soon as possible to take measures to ensure control of the park's capacity and to take preventive measures against COVID-19.
The town of Calp, together with the Calp-Ifach music association, has organised a concert in memory of the victims of the coronavirus next Sunday, 30 August. The event is sponsored by the Diputación de Alicante and is part of the XXV Campanya de Música as Pobles.
The event will take place at 9 pm in the Plaza Mayor and is intended to honour all those associations, organisations and individuals who, through their donations or work, helped the most disadvantaged during the quarantine.
In just over a week, the Calp local police have filed a total of 16 complaints against bars and restaurants for failing to maintain a safe distance between tables or groups of tables both on the terraces and inside the premises.
According to the local police, the charges were brought between 15 and 24 August, a period which includes two weekends in the middle of the summer season and when there is a large influx of tourists to Calp.
