Calpe is taking part in the Internacionale Tourisme Börse (ITB) in Berlin, considered one of the most important tourism fairs in the world (5,500 exhibitors from 170 countries), with the aim of regaining the interest of German travellers in the destination.
This week, maintenance work will begin on the 45 lampposts on Avenida Gabriel Miró, which require painting of their concrete bases, poles and supports. These lampposts, which are located in the municipality's main shopping street, are the street's landmark.
The mixed company Aguas de Calpe has begun remodelling work on the Barranc Salat desalination plant. The aim is to improve the water and electrical efficiency of the facilities and at the same time guarantee its production capacity in the event of possible increases in the salinity of the water.
For some weeks now, the Civil Protection of Calpe has established a special programme of forest surveillance on alternative days, in accordance with the levels of previfoc and the availability of volunteers.

This Friday, 1st March, Calpe is hosting the 2nd Jovempa Marina Alta and Marina Baixa Business Meeting, an event that aims to raise awareness among young entrepreneurs in the two regions about key factors that can help them to grow their projects.
The Department of Public Safety and the Calpe Police Headquarters, in the framework of the training sessions that have been given during the last week on drug detection in driving, deployed a preventive control for drivers in the Avenida Ejércitos Españoles.
