TWO RECENT WORKS AND A WORLD PREMIERE SHOW THE CONTEMPORARY FACE OF THE ROYAL BALLET.
The contemporary face of The Royal Ballet is revealed in works signed by three of today's foremost choreographers.
Christopher Wheeldon's Within the Golden Hour is based on seven couples that separate and intermingle, with music by Vivaldi and Bosso, illuminated by rich colours suggested by dusk.
Crystal Pite's Flight Pattern, which is reinstated for the first time, uses a large dance ensemble and Górecki's familiar music taken from his Symphony of Complaining Songs to make an intense and passionate reflection on migration.
In between, a new work by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, created for The Royal Ballet, in its world premiere.
