Calpe has received this morning the most awaited news for the whole educational community: the Regional Ministry of Education has authorised Calpe Town Council to put out to tender the new secondary school and the Gargasindi Special Education School.
The Councillor for Architecture, Carmen Sellés, visited Els Banys de la Reina in Calpe this morning to supervise the state of the works, which will allow the site to be opened to the public thanks to a subsidy from the Diputación de Alicante of 440,000 euros, 90% of the total budget.

Calpe Town Council has announced to the High Court of Justice of the Valencian Community that it will present an appeal in cassation following the decision of the court to dismiss the administrative appeal presented by the Calpe Town Council against the decision of the Generalitat Valenciana to authorise the extension of the fish farm off the coast of Calpe.
The new Good Practices Manual for the removal of posidonia approved by the Consell, which aims to regulate the conservation of posidonia meadows and their removal, establishes that Calp only has two urban beaches: Arenal-Bol and La Fossa, the rest being protected natural beaches.
Calpe Town Council will install photovoltaic panels for self-consumption at the municipal swimming pool. The project has been drawn up through the Provincial Council's Optimiza Energy Saving Plan and the tender for the works amounts to €57,438.
The mayoress of Calpe, Ana Sala, has stated that the Calpe town council "is not against tourist housing - we all live directly or indirectly from tourism - our obligation and commitment is to solve the problems of the municipality", including the difficulty of access to affordable and decent housing.
